Appropriate activity is the key to managing the symptoms of Fibromyalgia: pain and fatigue. The focus of the exercise program should be wellness, ‘active relaxation’, consistency and moderation. Emphasis is not based on sports conditioning. I can design an appropriate program and effectively provide the support needed to carry it out.
Having been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia myself and overcome its challenges through exercise and lifestyle changes, I feel compelled to share my experience with others. There is hope and freedom from the downward spiral effect of a life stifled by pain and tiredness.
Pilates is a precise series of exercises designed to develop the body uniformly, correcting posture and revitalizing the body, mind and spirit. Key principles of alignment and core stabilization are taught to maximize effectiveness of exercise and carry over into everyday living, creating ease of movement and preventing injury. Participants feel a balance between strength and flexibility. New energy is found for the activities of daily living. It is a great program to complement treatment of Fibromyalgia.
Give Pilates a try and start feeling better!
